“Music has more meaning to me since Cantor Adesnik became a part of our synagogue. Her voice is like a beautiful bird, allowing me the choice of listening or participating.” Arlene Marcus
“Cantor Adesnik has enriched my life and that of my family, as she has prepared me for my Torah Portion in honor of my granddaughter’s Bat Mitzvah. She is an outstanding and dedicated teacher who has enhanced my spirituality with her beautiful voice.” Alan Granath
“Music with Cantor Adesnik has helped me become involved with the synagogue in a way I never imagined. Although I have been a member of TE Atlanta for sixteen years, I only became involved three years ago when I choir. I am honored to be able to sit upon the bimah for High Holy Days and add my voice to our amazing cantor. Friday night services are much more meaningful to me as I raise my voice in prayer. Music speaks to me in a way that words cannot.” Nikki Cantor
“When Cantor Adesnik sings, I often close my eyes, and the music puts me in a very comfortable, different place. At the end of each service, I look forward to my warm hug from Lauren. She is family.” Stew and Bev Aron
“Our family enjoys going to services at Temple Emanu-El of Greater Atlanta and hearing Cantor Adesnik’s beautiful voice. She has done a fabulous job involving our young adults during Friday night services. Our daughter has enjoyed playing her guitar along with cantor Adesnik and other young teens during services.” Randi Siegel
“Cantor Adesnik is the reason I show up for Friday Night services. It’s her voice that puts me into the Shabbos spirit and her voice that touches something deep in my soul, bringing peace and contentment. Cantor Adesnik, her music, and her spiritual commitment create great ruach that I have not experienced in a long time.” Arlene Katz
“The music program at TE Atlanta has been transformative for us, particularly for our son. It has fostered a renewed sense of spirituality and devotion to Judaism that would not exist without it. It has provided a wonderful outlet for creativity, leadership, and friendship for him.” Kitty Ragals
“Cantor Adesnik’s music brings a certain peacefulness over the congregation. She is always introducing us to new melodies for our traditional songs.” Phyllis “Fifi” Ginsburg
“I had the privilege of knowing Cantor Lauren at Adath Israel Brith Shalom as a musical and worship planning associate. It was wonderful to have such a kind, thoughtful, and spiritual person and a leader for a large congregation. She is one to introduce new ideas, songs, and gatherings for her congregants; almost every holiday can have a musical fiesta! She sang praises for all ages, and I would do the same for her!” Jeff Springer
“I cannot speak highly enough of Cantor Lauren. She is one of the warmest, most genuine people I’ve ever met. When she was here in Louisville, I always found her vibrant, positive energy a delight to be around. I believe any synagogue would be fortunate to have her. Being a musician myself, I appreciated her knowledge and excitement for music, and she even helped me regain my enthusiasm by encouraging me to participate in the choir. This meant a lot to me because it allowed me to make a greater contribution to the Jewish community/ Furthermore, whenever members of my family were sick or injured in the hospital, she would always take time out of her busy schedule and go visit them, which I think speaks volumes about who she is as a person. I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for her.” Justin Hersch
“Cantor Lauren is a talented, enthusiastic musician, performer, and song leader. She’s also extraordinarily caring and supportive. I experienced this first-hand after my husband’s cancer diagnosis (he’s currently in remission)! Cantor Lauren proactively reached out to our family numerous times to check in on how we were doing and to offer support.” Sarah Harlan
“I was the pianist and collaborated with Cantor Lauren during her tenure at Temple Emanu-El. She brought feeling and beauty to her singing, as well as a contagious love of the music of the service. She focused on getting the congregation involved in the singing, coming to the edge of the bimah or down onto the floor. Lauren’s knowledge of Jewish music, traditional and new, is vast. She commissioned new pieces for the congregation and hosted visiting artists. Her organizational skills are impressive. She seemed to be unflappable. “It’s all good” was her constant refrain in the face of juggling junior choir, adult volunteer choir, HHD prep, Purim Spiels, B’nai Mitzvah preparation, and all the traditional cantor’s duties.
Most of all, I would like to highlight her work with young people. Lauren was a mentor, involving young people as chanters in the HHD services, taking the Jr. Choir to the Governor’s Mansion for a yearly performance of Chanukah songs. One of our congregants began at a young age to take a singing role in our Shabbat services, and continued to sing with Lauren even after her graduation from college.”
